About 32 Live and CB Radio around Pittsburgh

Early 1990s a family oriented cb radio channel 17 was formed. This group included but not limited to; "Sleepy", "Miracle Whip" and Stryker" of Rochester PA, "Rebel" of Raccoon Twp, "Ridgerunner" of Economy Boro, "007" and "Blondie" of Hopewell PA, Skippy (Later known as Jiggaman) of Franklin Park PA, "Bandit" of Monaca PA, "LTD", "Night Owl", "Subzero" of Economy Boro PA, "Mad Dawg" of New Brighton PA, "Continental Kid" of Aliquippa PA(Died in 2006), "Mikey" Center Twp - Beaver County PA.

Also at this time (in the early to mid 90s) the Channel 36 Lower Side Band evening net was around and somewhat popular. It was held the first tuesday night of the month at 7pm or something annoying like that. There were 10-20 check ins usually until it faded away by 1994-1995.

1995-1996 the regular 40 channels were polluted with long distance skip/DX interference and foul mouthed truck driver traffic. The family channel 17 gradually disbanded and made their temporary standby 26.915 mHz their new permanent home. They enjoyed their time there until in 1998-1999, 26.915 was overrun with high power long distance stations from down south and out west and the 26.915 group had to move to 26.925, where they still reside today in 2009.

1997-2000 Channel 32 formed and consisted of "Jiggaman" (formerly known as "Skippy") of Franklin Park PA, "Newport" of Franklin Park PA, "Weasel" of Wexford PA, "Wizard" of Wexford PA, "Jody McGovern" of Franklin Park PA (Died in 2002), "Fire" of Franklin Park PA, and "Scooter Trash" of Franklin Park PA, all met at North Allegheny High School in Wexford, PA and got radios on the air and talked to each other. All of us had cb radios in our vehicles and most of us had them in our houses. We met "Whiskers" of Economy Boro PA in late 1997 when he returned home from an extended vacation. We also met "Subzero" of Economy Boro, and "Steve" of Cranberry Twp PA, around that same time.

2000-2002 Channel 32 had local stations talking most nights of the week. Spring of 2002 Jiggaman moved to North Carolina for better prospects. Summer of 2002 Newport moved into a condo in Cranberry with his wife and still had a mobile but he had to take down his base station. Summer of 2002 Jody died in a car crash. Whiskers got off the air in 2001-2002 never to be heard again. Whiskers later moved to california in 2006 for his retirement. At some point in 2003 Wizard moved to texas and has not been on the cb radio since.

September 2002 Jiggaman got home sick and returned home to western PA and immediately setup a cb radio mobile and base station. Channel 32 resumed with Steve, Weasel, Newport and Jiggaman.

Winter 2002-2003 we met Radio Rob, Sexy Dave and Pickle on channel 32.

Spring 2003 Sexy Dave built Jiggaman a computer out of spare parts from his basement and the 32live.com web site was born.

2003-2005 Jiggaman and Rob hustled cb radios out of their trunks and did private radio work out of their closets and ended up getting 20-30 more people on the air. 32Live hosted drunk stunt bowling and banquets and awards ceremony and wore out our welcome in every establishment in North Hills/Cranberry/Zelie area. Our event's attendance gathered 40 people or more in our peaks of that 2-3 year span. In late 2004, Weasel moved from Wexford to Mt. Washington where he was not able to put up a base station. Victor has an extreme character that inspired the original creativity and spontaneity of channel 32. Late 2005-2006 the group changed a little bit and things slowed down.

2005-2007 Jiggaman and Rob opened up a public, full service, new and used cb radio shop inside the Wildwood Peddlers Fair Indoor/Outdoor Flea Market in Wildwood, PA. Business was good. We met almost all of the local radio community in person. The radio shop was a neat place for the local cb radio community to gather and meet the other people that they regularly talked to on the air.. It was also a nice place to go get their radios fixed and pick up some equipment and accessories.

Fall 2006 the Channel 36 LSB Sideband Net was resumed from more than 10 years before. Re-Founded by Tombstone 2w7171, Moderated by Sleepy 2w3105, accompanied by Barnyard Bonanza, and promoted by Jiggaman 2w112 on the internet and at his radio shop. The first week we had 10+ members. In 2009 we still have average 20-30 check ins throughout the 2-3 hour net that is held every sunday night starting at 8PM. The net is family oriented and is full of check ins from the tri state area with friendly, interesting and entertaining chit-chat throughout any sunday evening.

February 2007 with rumors of Wildwood Peddlers Fair closing, Jiggaman and Rob closed the shop and resumed internet sales and local cb radio repair work quietly.

January 2008 Rob, Soupy, Night Owl, Brandon, Jiggaman, Pappy, 5-Star, 1155 and many other guests could be heard on 32 most days and nights. Weasel moved to Beechview and recently ordered a fresh new roll of coax cable and plans to set up his A-99 and has already begun construction on his radio room at his new house. We can't wait to hear him back on the air after several years without him.

February 2008 Jiggaman moved to Evans City, PA and setup his base station with his high performance pvc pipe dipole hung high in a tree. Victor "Weasel" of Beechview, PA set up his a99 and cherokee base and is now back on the air after 3 years of being away from the radio.

January 2009 - the regular crew can be heard most days and night on channel 32. Get on the air to be a part of it.

Fall 2009 - Jiggaman and crew are getting their radio stations and antennas ready for winter. It will be here before we know it...

Spring 2010 - Join Fred, Sexy Dave, Uncle Cletus, Bobert, Barnyard Bonanza, Curtis*(see notes below), Deliverance Dan, Tanker Dave, Jiggaman, Liz, Victor, Night Owl, Pappy, Earl, Soupy, Sleepy, Double Barrel, every day of the week on 32 AM and SSB.

*Curtis:
-Fall 2009: Curtis moved to a bigger apartment.
-December 2009: Curtis dissapeared. Curtis's landlord said that in 2 months Curtis's new apartment was more trashed more than his old one ever was. He has seen homeless people live better in dumpsters. he also noted that curtis has shit and towers and pipes and antennas and wires all over the property. Curtis's response was that these were his things and he has rights. If Curtis keeps his shit up, he will not only lose his antenna privileges, but get kicked out. (we figured that he lives in an apartment building with a landlord that is cool enough to let him put one antenna up that Curtis would kiss his ass. WRONG! CURTIS HAS RIGHTS!
-March 2010 Curtis's landlord rips cb antenna off of building with a chain and a ford truck and we can barely hear him 5 miles away on sideband cause he is on a magnet mount antenna stuck to his refrigerator.
-April 2010 Curtis gets thrown out on his ass and all of the windows on the apartment are open to air the place out. Curtis is currently living in a homeless shelter. He is the only homeless person we know with thousands of dollars of radio equipment in storage...
-Mid April 2010 Curtis moves into a nice apartment in mars, PA. He is not allowed any antennas.
